About VBSA Snooker & Billiards Competitions

The VB&SA (Victorian Billiards & Snooker Association Incorporated) was established in 1927.

Its charter is to

  • run the Sport of Billiards & Snooker in Victoria
  • run Tournaments and events as per our Calendar of Events
  • operate week to week inter club competition (Pennant) in Billiards and Snooker
  • foster the sport in Victoria and to organise and develop the sport at a junior level
  • co-ordinate the sport in accordance with the Australian Billiards & Snooker Council.

Our week to week competition consists of:

Pennant Season One is run over (typically) 14 weeks on Monday and Wednesday nights. It starts around mid February with finals in July. The snooker competition is graded from A Premier to C Premier and A State to D State. The billiards competition is graded A State to C State.

Pennant Season Two is run over (typically) 18 weeks on Monday and Wednesday nights. It starts around mid August and finals finish early December. A Premier to C Premier Billiards and a snooker competition is graded from A Willis through to D State.

All grades in both Seasons have 4 players with 2 tables required.  All matches are played off scratch. Snooker matches consist of 3 frames and Billiards matches are of 80 minutes duration.

The VBSA run tournaments from time to time and these will be published on the website as entries are called for. To enter any VBSA run tournament, you must be a member of the VBSA or a member of an affiliate.
